Program Outline

The Hebei orphanage works with Chinese orphans and handicapped children.  It also runs a bakery to create jobs for the orphans and handicapped.  Overseas volunteers will be able to work in the bakery and help with home deliveries.  Profits from the sales of bread will allow the children to purchase wheelchairs and orthopedic equipment. 

Other voluntary work includes helping local foster homes and orphanages in general repair and maintenance work such as repairing, reshaping wheelchairs, painting, plumbing and electrical repairs.

International volunteers will probably come to Hebei via Beijing International Airport which is just an hour drive away from Hebei.  As such, Overseas Volunteers can also choose to take up a Mandarin course in Beijing.  The mandarin course is designed to train participants to speak, read and write the Chinese Language.  The course also gives you a better understanding of the Chinese culture.  Customized programs are available for organizations.
