Volunteering Abroad in Singapore
Experience volunteering in Singapore by helping in the Day Activity Centre for the Disabled! You will be involved in working with youth and adult with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down syndrome and Multiple Disabilities.
Get involved with volunteering activities designed to equip the disabled with personal hygiene habits, independent living skills, community living skills as well as social & recreational skills! An extra pair of hands is always welcome!
Suitable for all volunteers!
Undergraduates and graduates from Australia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, The United Kingdom and The United States may finance their volunteering vacations in Asia by participating in the Singapore Work Holiday Program!

This program is suitable for student volunteering, family volunteering and corporate volunteering.
Start Date
Our Volunteering Program in Singapore starts on any date of your choice throughout the year. Volunteers must arrive at least one day before the start of their program.
Volunteer Hours
Volunteers generally work from 9pm to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Day Activity Centre for Persons with Disability
There are more than 80 youths and adults with disability in this centre.
Youths and adults with an intellectual disability, including those who have Downs syndrome, cerebral palsy and autism spectrum disorder, hearing impairment and epilepsy, are cared for and meaningfully occupied with activities that are planned to improve their quality of life in this day activity centre.
Get involved with training persons who have disabilities in activities of daily living, community living skills, social and recreational activities.
The training and activities include:

Activities of daily living
Feeding, toileting, personal hygiene, showering, walking and stair climbing

Community Living Skills
Home-living skills, such as cooking and cleaning. Community training, such as shopping and taking public transport.

Social and Recreational Activities
Language & communication skills, social skills and behaviour management, arts and crafts, music and movements, games and exercises.
Other relevant skills, such as positive behaviour support and management, alternative & augmentative communication skill training, occupational therapy, art therapy, music therapy, sensory integration, disability sports and recycled art are also needed.
