Program Outline

To the world, Singapore may be a land of affluence, a land with no lack.  As in every developed nation however, there are groups who will do well with some help.  Some children live in Homes as their parents are in jail or do not have the capacity to look after them.   These Homes welcome volunteers who can spend some time with the children.  So, come, tell a story or give a listening ear to their stories!  Or teach them a life skill!  Be their teacher and friend today!
 
This program is suitable for student volunteering, family volunteering and corporate volunteering.

Start Date

Our Volunteer Program in Singapore starts on any date of your choice throughout the year. Volunteers must arrive at least one day before the start of their program.

Volunteer Hours

Volunteers generally work from 9pm to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Home and Care Centre for Children

Children are taken into the Homes because they had no one to care for them. They often come from broken families where parents are divorced or where they are abused, or in some cases, where one or both parents are put behind bars for criminal offence.  

Volunteers may help in tutoring the children in their school work and playing with them during their free time, offering them a listening ear and being a friend…

Volunteers may also teach a skill, including videography, photography, filming.  Artists may also teach skills such as drawing or painting.  Musicians are welcome to teach guitar, piano and other musical instruments.  Dancers may teach the children modern dance such as hiphop and line-dancing!  Come share your skills and talents!  

Singapore Work Holiday Program
