Volunteering in Singapore Home for Elderly

Singapore Home for the Elderly houses up to 350 aged, some of whom have no family to take care of them, or have families that are too poor to support them. Many need medical attention because of their advanced age. The employees of the Homes are up to the neck just tending to the physical and medical needs of the aged, and hardly have the time to cater to their emotional needs.

International volunteers are most welcome to visit.  You can help in caring for the elderly, listen to their stories, organise a party, or even perform for them.

Voluntary Work in the Elderly Home may also involve helping with the group activities such as birthday celebrations and sing-a-long sessions.  Volunteers are also needed to help move the elderly from their beds to the activities centre for daily exercise or participate in social activities. 

This program is suitable for  all volunteers including independent volunteers, student volunteering, family volunteering and corporate volunteering.

Start Date for Voluntary Work in Singapore 

Our Volunteer Program in Singapore starts on any date of your choice throughout the year. Volunteers must arrive at least one day before the start of their program.

Volunteer Hours

Volunteers generally work from 9pm to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Singapore Work Holiday Program

Good news, undergraduates and graduates!  Finance your gap year and volunteering in asia through the Singapore Work Holiday Program! 

Undergraduates and graduates from up to 8 countries,including Australia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, The United Kingdom and The United States can participate in the Singapore Work Holiday Program.  Come experience living and working in Singapore for up to 6 months!
