On 22 May 2008, 14 of us left for the inaugural DBS Live Fresh Experience Travel Programme. It was the first overseas Volunteer Travel trip for most of us. And we were both excited and apprehensive. All of us had signed up for the trip on our own and we were travelling with a group of new friends. The team bonded quickly as all of us had the common objectives of bringing joy and fun to the orphans that we were visiting.

The orphans loved the attention that we brought and many of them wanted to be carried over and over again. They fully participated in the games and activities. We rounded off the trip by visiting Angkor Wat. It was an eye-opening travel experience for most of us and we look forward to going on a Volunteer Travel trip again, soon.

Meanwhile, we are already planning to go on another trip with our new-found friends. *smile*.

Teng says

"My first overseas volunteer trip has turned out to be an eye-opening and enriching experience.  Interacting with the kids at the orphanage made me feel young again.  I certainly brought home pleasant memories.  Thanks for everything!"

Eric says

" A life changing trip.  Everyone of us should go on a volunteer trip at least once in their life!  Logistically wise, TMTA doesn't disappoint, they are the truly 1 stop guide to Asia!"

Gwen remembers a saying by Winston Churchhill

"You make a living by what you get.  You make a life by what you give".

June says

"Getting what you want is not nearly as important as giving what you have."

Hwee Ching says

"Thanks for unselfish friendship throughout my trip...........

From the 1st day when my aloe vera cream was confiscated at the custom til the last day of our stay at Siem Reap. You definitely are the right person/ friend/ companion/ team leader/ Senoir Manager I wish to travel with again. *clap clap clap* You are patient, gentle, quick minded, understanding & you showed the true organiser quality in you. Thank you for a trip well conducted!"

Peter says

"Thanks for an interesting trip and all assistance accorded. Take Care. "
