In June 2008, 25 students from Chung Cheng High School (Yishun) flew to Phnom Penh and Kampong Cham in Cambodia for an Overseas Service Learning Project.

It was an eye-opening experience for the students as it was an opportunity to experience the world beyond their borders.  The enthusiastic youths got to interact with Cambodian orphans as they volunteered at an orphanage.  Over the two days, the Singapore students brought much joy to the Cambodian orphans as they played games with them, did balloon sculpting, put up song performances and taught them art & craft.  It was a fulfilling experience for the young volunteers as they saw the smiles on the children's faces.

The volunteers also got to visit a local school, and to see first-hand how students in other parts of the world had their lessons.

It was not a case of "all work and no play", as the trip ended with students visiting the National Museum and shopping at Russian and Central Market.
